Not even the mother knows for sure?

I am more of a historian and do recall many instances in which paternity test results were falsified.  I recall the case of a Chicago lab in which a technician falsified a large number of test results, wrongly assigning paternity to many men that had been fingered (in California, and elsewhere probably too, it is a common practice to pick the name of a prospective “father” out of the phone book).  She falsified those DNA test results simply because she hated men. You should have the paternity test repeated.  Not only that, but you should obtain two samples and have the DNA test done by [more...]

Marianne's Your Favorite Girl: I've been tagged!

I've been blogging since the days when Xanga and Livejournal were hot, and I'm notorious for getting bored with the blog and abandoning it like a Bro who got suckered into a paternity test on Maury. I guess that would annoy me if I was an avid reader of the abandoned blog.  I don't plan on abandoning this one anytime soon, if you're wondering. 7. What are you OCD about? Organizing my makeup. Paternity test?

However, to add drama to both his life and mine he’s gotten a lawyer and I got a letter saying that I have to submit to a DNA test. I could just "give in" and take the test but I’m so mad at him for doing this and getting me upset while I’m Pregnant(35wks) that I do not want my child violated when he’s born…even if it is just a swab of the cheek. I live in Pa and need help, does anyone know what rights I have in denying him this test. Doesn’t he have to prove he was with me around the time of conception? I mean really, can anyone just go to a lawyer with a false claim making [more...]

DNA Testing | We are all African | Mahala

If you could email your ancestors, what would you want to know? Family legend or delusions of grandeur may suggest you are royalty: A Nubian Princess, the fruit of Genghis Khan’s loins, or a descendant of Shaka Zulu’s warrior clan. You may be some, or all of those things, but most likely, you’re a mongrel. Up until last week I thought I was pretty vanilla. An average 5th generation white settler, much like, in terms of my genetic cocktail, any other rooinek. But then I did a DNA test. Not because I wanted to find out the obvious stuff, like where my Grandparents were born, but to [more...]

Fischer's Paternity Test Released - NYTimes.com

September 9, 2010, 6:09 pm Fischer’s Paternity Test Released By DYLAN LOEB MCCLAIN Marilyn Young, the Filipino woman who said that her daughter, Jinky, was the child of Bobby Fischer is pressing ahead with a claim to his estate, though DNA tests have shown that Mr. Fischer was not Jinky’s father. In a letter sent Thursday to her attorney in Iceland, Thordur Bogason, Ms. Young asked that DNA samples be taken from Mr. Fischer’s nephews, Alexander and Nicholas Targ, who have filed claims to the estate, and compared to the tissue samples retrieved when Mr. Fischer was exhumed to make sure [more...]
