Confessions of a Second Life Addict

I responded wishing her the best and heard nothing more until the surprise request for a paternity test. I’ll cut a long story short by saying the little boy was mine and she and my son moved to the UK a couple of months later. I was still with Jenee and did not get back with my son’s Mother, nor did I have any intention of doing. But the distance between Jenee and myself and the additional things happening in my life was causing a strain. I was spending less time in world (though not much less) and she and I started to fight a lot. We eventually broke up at the end of 2008. I continued [more...]

An Open Letter to Senator Charlie Justice « A Voice for Men

By Beth Lang Just recently, my son received his high school diploma. As you may understand from my previous article,  he now lacks motivation to do much of anything. I am at his side pushing him to continue his life in a good decent direction. Together, my son and I will refuse to let this evilness take control of him and bring him down. We refuse to let this situation make him become someone he is not. We refuse to let this issue stop him from obtaining his life's dreams! Several weeks after the graduation ceremony, my son received a letter from Senator Charlie Justice. (he was a guest [more...]

The Spittoon » What DTC Genetic Testing Can—and Can't—Tell You

Unknown genetic factors, as well as environment, are also important.  Additionally, because most research is conducted in populations with European ancestry, people from ethnic minorities get limited information from DTC genetic testing. Through its research, 23andMe is working to improve the information that all people can get from their DNA data.  Our 23andWe surveys allow everyone to contribute to work aimed at understanding some of the most basic facets of our biology, and have already resulted in the publication of a report in a peer-reviewed scientific journal.  Our Parkinson’s [more...]

my boy might not be mine (long but important)

I asked if I should get a paternity test and she said I SHOULD. I guess I was too trusting of my wife though I thought it would be OK to trust her completely. I never bothered her about hanging out with friends or coworkers but I was wrong. I don't know how to feel or what to do. I am getting a paternity test but I was informed a few hours ago that this guys she was still with has done one and will be giving it to her tomorrow for her to show me. I also found that whenever she said she would bring our son to see her friends it was actually him she would bring him to. My wife also had his [more...]

A Mother's Custody Injustice

I was starting to be on “parents”, a journey that has made me the person I wanted to travel, would form a traitor, would test my endurance to the very core of my being. Nevertheless, I was ready to accept it. [more...]

Russell HR Consulting » Blog Archive » Violence at work

Kev also questioned the paternity of their baby daughter Holly.  After Mr Kyle read out the results of a DNA test proving that he was the father of on-off girlfriend Elena’s child Kev asked to be shown the letter containing the results, but as soon as he was handed the envelope he threw it straight at Mr Kyle. Some viewers have suggested that Mr Kyle provoked the response by his tone of voice and approach when giving Kev the letter.  The envelope hit Mr Kyle on the head. Mr Kyle said: “The truth obviously hurts you. You’ve just found out you’re a dad; you should be happy!” Kev [more...]

How can I avoid paying child support and get my name removed from ...

I signed a declaration of paternity for a child in 2002 in the state of california. Once the baby was 2 months I found out I was not the biological father. I recently (11/12/09)received a letter from child support services asking for income verification because I think the mother is receiving county aid. Can I be held liable for this if I’M not the biological father? In addition, the mother commpleted a change of address form with the post office to forward my home mail to a p.o.box to falsify the original test saying that I was the father, and mailed the incorrect results to my home. Once [more...]

DNA Testing | We are all African | Mahala

If you could email your ancestors, what would you want to know? Family legend or delusions of grandeur may suggest you are royalty: A Nubian Princess, the fruit of Genghis Khan’s loins, or a descendant of Shaka Zulu’s warrior clan. You may be some, or all of those things, but most likely, you’re a mongrel. Up until last week I thought I was pretty vanilla. An average 5th generation white settler, much like, in terms of my genetic cocktail, any other rooinek. But then I did a DNA test. Not because I wanted to find out the obvious stuff, like where my Grandparents were born, but to [more...]
